Buffet Food Display

With all of the present chaos and uncertainty that is afoot for our BliSS program, we are reminded that March 2026 marks the beginning of a 13th year of service.  Where does the time go, feels like just yesterday we were down at Basra setting up for our first delivery, and here we are today…

How do you sum up 12 years of excellence in just a few short paragraphs?  When I think back on all of the editions that we have put out on this site, there are two words that jump to mind the most…change & gratitude.

In an environment such as ours, laced with international intrigue and generalized mayhem, it would go without saying that constant change would be the driving factor for all daily operations.  Food service is no exception to that axiom.  Time was when our changes were based on seasonal variety and our attempts to support the ever-evolving dining diversity that has entered our dining areas.  Working with an international supply chain and regionally procured specialty items with the goal to match current global dining trends blended with traditional expectations.  Of course these factors must coincide to a rotational budget basis, whether by allowable values or existing headcount capture, financial objectives are always on our mind along with quality and sanitation variables.   Through it all our teams have strived to provide the best eminence of offerings and presentation within whatever parameters come their way.

That said, we turn to the thought of gratitude.  There is so much for us to be grateful for during our time on the BliSS program.  Firstly, we are grateful for the ongoing opportunities to support the Department of State’s mission in Iraq.  In that goal we have had constant occasions to serve our dining guests.  Through our daily menu offerings in our cafeterias, or a quick visit to one of the Snack Bar options, to the larger annual events that we get to participate in, the teams work towards an end goal of delightful dining experiences for all of our guests.  We are grateful for the chance to serve and for all of the tremendous feedback that we have received over the years, both verbally and through our comment card capture.

What started as a 5-year, unprecedented program has turned out to truly have become a journey for many of our team.  To the dedicated men and women of our Taylor’s family we hold a sense of humble gratitude and appreciation.  Their tireless efforts through good times and not so good times have proven out that their values for service and dedication to performance is continuous and for their part, heart-felt.  Their genuine since of service heart comes through in their smiles, their quick reactions, and their ability to provide food offerings and services that allow us the accolades that we have received over the years.
